Academy Award best picture winner "The Artist," Malcom McDowell

Prolific British actor Malcolm McDowell received the 2,465th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, capping an acting career which spans more than four decades and 150-strong film and television credits. 

McDowell also made a brief appearance in the 84th Academy Award best picture winner "The Artist," acting as a butler.

Tamar Simon Hoffs

Award winning director, writer, producer, Tamar Simon Hoffs, was born in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.  She is best known for directing independent films “Red Roses and Petrol” (2003,) and “Pound of Flesh” (2010,) both starring Malcolm McDowell.  “Red Roses and Petrol” won first prize at the Avignon Film Festival, 2005, and was also an Official Selection of AFI, Bangkok, Galway, and Deauville festivals, and Toronto’s film circuit.   “Pound of Flesh” also stars Angus Macfadyen and Timothy Bottoms, and had its European premiere as the closing film of Germany’s Oldenburg International Film Festival, 2010.  It has gone on the win best dramatic film at Sacramento International Film Festival, and has been purchased by Showtime, as well as EONE Entertainment for its current cable and wide digital release.
